Parents will work with the teacher to get their child more comfortable and confident in the water. The class in this level will work towards having children become independent in the water and learning to follow instructions from the teacher.

Children will start learning basic swimming skills such as floating, blowing bubbles, safe entry and exit and much more. Classes consist of small groups so that teachers can work to build the water confidence in each child. 

In the class, learning proper breathing technique is a big focus as swimmers work towards moving independently through the water. Water safety is another big factor in the classes and swimmers will start learning how to save themselves in the water.

At this level, swimmers will work on proper swimming form and learn to swim independently in both the shallow and deep end. Survival skills such as treading water are introduced and the level aims to make swimmers comfortable in the deep end of the pool.

Swimmers will improve their basic swimming techniques to a more advanced level for frontcrawl, backstroke and breaststroke with the introduction of more drills, and the basic butterfly stroke is introduced. Skills such as diving and underwater gliding are also worked on at this level.

Stroke School is the levels Stroke Correction and Pre Squad combined. In these levels, swimmers will practise to improve their technique for all four strokes using a wide range of drills.
