Children will start learning basic swimming skills such as floating, blowing bubbles, safe entry and exit and much more. Classes consist of small groups so that teachers can work to build the water confidence in each child. 

In the class, learning proper breathing technique is a big focus as swimmers work towards moving independently through the water. Water safety is another big factor in the classes and swimmers will start learning how to save themselves in the water.

This level is for swimmers who know basic swim skills and are now ready to develop their skills to swim independently. The swimmer can already swim 5m or more by themselves but will now learn to swim longer distances by themselves. 

At this level, swimmers will work on proper swimming form and learn to swim independently in both the shallow and deep end. Survival skills such as treading water are introduced and the level aims to make swimmers comfortable in the deep end of the pool.
